1868

Craftsman Ludvík Sigmund establishes a pump company in Lutín. He starts with the production of wooden stand pumps and water pipes. The company develops quickly and hires its first employees.

1894

The company is taken over by the founder's sons Jan and František. Metalworking and the production of metal pump parts are started. The company gains fame in the field of well drilling and water supply construction.

1922

Registration of the trademarks "SIGMA" and "Neptune's trident". A year later, electric drive of machines is introduced and workshops are equipped with modern machining equipment. In 1924, the company's branch store in Prague was opened.

1968

The centenary of the company's founding is associated with the introduction of the production of submersible sludge and dewatering pumps. Cooperation with the English company CRANE Ltd. was also initiated, aimed at the licensed production of mechanical seals. Foreign trade is rapidly developing, especially in the markets of Central and Eastern Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, Central and South America and Southeast Asia.

2004

Organizational changes in the SIGMA GROUP as holding company focused on dividing the product structure between the plants in Hranice and Lutín.
